Pieces of a competition process are displayed to illustrate this project.The municipality of Lagos promoted a public competition to refurbish and renew an old school unit within the town area.
The project solution can be described on a two gesture moment, a long functional corridor [leading to multiple rooms] and a large volume over the playfield as seen on the model image. The presented proposal was intentionally ambitious.
After a thorough analysis to the Jury report and all competitors’ solutions, a strong appeal was presented on the Jury intention; the final achieved position was far from rewarding the project quality and based on the Jury behaviour, two legal processes were pressed against the Council of Lagos. Results from the legal process are still to be known.
